Hey Guys! So I wanted to share with you guys this week my top five favorite tips to maximizing your senior session, and getting the best results!
Lets be honest... We've all had pictures taken that we don't like. My ultimate goal as a photographer is to make you feel your very best, and to make you fall in love with the portraits I take of you. Your senior photo's are something your going to forever look back on, Their memories that are going to be shared with family, friends, and on social media.. So its my job as your photographer to help you feel your best.
1.Wear clothes that are flattering to you. Avoid clothes that are to tight, or to short. The last thing you want is to not be able to get the best poses because of a dress thats to short, or to have something to tight and create an unflattering angle.
2.Tailor the session to you! You want to capture everything that has been apart of you for the last 13 years of your education. Sports..Friends..Family. Whatever it may be. I love senior sessions so much because their so tailored. Make sure you plan to do at least half of your session to who you are.
3.Look into professional hair and makeup. I have vendors I prefer for this, and that I know personally. As I said previously, These pictures last a life time, and you want them to be the best they can be. If that's something you don't want to do... Some of my go to major makup tips for sessions are.....number one, Keep it light. Avoid dark makeup(eye shadow), and Make sure you have the perfect foundation shade. More is More.. and what I mean by that is always wear a little heavier than you normally do.. the camera is going to wash it out, so you always want to wear more. And finally, always apply your makeup in natural light.
4. Be honest with your photographer. If there's an area you want to avoid, or. pose you don't feel comfortable with. Tell me! My job is to make you feel beautiful. I always send my senior girls a questionnaire before their session, this is your chance to tell me everything. Your best features, your least favorite, so I can make you feel most comfortable on the big day.
5. Plan, Plan, Plan! This session is all about you, and I always want to make sure we are doing it exactly how you want. This is why I always incorporate a get to know each other consultation before. I want you to tell me WHERE you want to shoot, WHEN you want to shoot, IDEAS that you have. VISIONS that you have... all of this is so important to get the best result and make you fall in love with your senior session.
I look forward to working with all my seniors, and a major part of my business is making this an experience, not just pictures or business. There's so many special behind the scenes of these sessions that really wrap it all up, and it truly makes it my favorite part.
Have a good weekend friends!
XOXO, Danielle
